Does the fan run constantly?

No, the system is only required to operate whilst the toilet is in use.

How is the fan activated?

Depending on how the customer prefers the system to operate the fan can be activated in any one of the 3 following options:
1. Wiring it to your light switch
2. Having a separate fan switch or
3. Linking the system to a movement sensor switch.

Will I feel a draft when I am on the toilet?

No, the fan is only drawing 5-10 l/s from the WC. It draws enough air for the system to be 100% effective; however the person using the WC will never feel a draft.

Who installs the system?

It is a requirement by law the OdourVac System is installed by a licensed plumber.

At what stage is the OdourVac system installed?

Ideally, the house/project is at lockup stage to prevent the fan being stolen. The system is also required to be installed prior to the plasterboard/tiles going on the walls as all pipe work is installed in the wall cavity and ceiling space. Once the plasterboard/tiles are installed the plumber will then need to return to fit off the WC and grill.

Can the OdourVac system be adapted to in wall cisterns?

Absolutely, we simply connect into the top of the cistern above the water level. The system works the same way by drawing air directly from the internal overflow pipe in the cistern.

Can the system be installed into an existing bathroom?

Yes, however the ideal time is during building or renovating. Difficulties are often encountered on existing bathroom installations i.e. - penetrating wall studs/noggins within wall cavities, removing of bathroom tiles etc.

Can the fan be located under the floor?

Certainly, however an alternative pipe work configuration is required to prevent water contacting the fan.

Is the OdourVac system noisy?

With a conventional exhaust fan the blades are located directly in the bathroom and as a result are often very noisy. In contrast, the OdourVac fan is located away from the bathroom therefore they are extremely quiet and almost silent.
